Guest Speaker: Greg Hand

Greg & Wren Hand pastor Vieux Carre Baptist Church in the French Quarter of New Orleans, USA. Having sensed God's call to the city in 2003, the Hand's moved from their pastorate in Alabama, USA in 2004. In August of 2005 the world watched as Hurricane Katrina devastated New Orleans and the state of Mississippi  coast where the Hand's resided with their two sons, Ryne (now 20), and Sam (now 18). Their home and all possessions were destroyed by the massive storm surge that accompanied the storm. The church as well as the French Quarter of New Orleans was relatively untouched by Katrina's fury.

The vision of the Hand's changed from having a traditional church model to a broad outreach that includes the many thousands of visitors to the world-famous French Quarter. The ministries undertaken include services for the rough sleeper population, housing for short-term mission groups, evangelistic outreach to Bourbon Street in the Quarter, Carnival (Mardi Gras), and a host of festivals and events throughout the year in the French Quarter.

Greg is a graduate of William Carey University in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, USA. Wren is completing her Ph.D in nursing. Their son Ryne begins his third year at the University of Mississippi and Sam begins his first year at the University of Alabama in August.
